Shine Dome
The Australian Academy of Science recently appointed Eo to design and construct a comprehensive Audio Visual Upgrade of the Shine Dome. The Shine Dome is a unique and iconic site in Canberra and is regularly used for functions and special events. The Academy wanted to ensure that state of the art audiovisual equipment was installed for patrons to utilise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Eo Design installed a new Digital Signage at the reception, digital MATV network and complete audio visual systems for the board room, auditorium, and pre-function areas.

 Energy saving AV components were specified and include digital amplifiers and power controllers on all AV racks, with AMX control throughout the venue. Green cable infrastructure was also installed using Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable.

Careful planning was needed due to buildings heritage listing. All speakers in sensitive areas have been custom colour matched to the architectural environment..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


The upgrade to the Ian Wark Theatre included a large 6 metre motorised screen with a high quality Panasonic 6000 ANSI lumen WXGA video data projector. Digital audio is able to be distributed from theatre to all zones within the Shine Dome.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The theatre also contains a Tandberg HD video conferencing (VC) with digital audio processing that allows any of the twelve (12) microphones in the room to connected to a VC call.
The system comprises a Biamp head end, Shure microphones, Tannoy front of house speakers and Renkus Heinz digitally steerable side fill speakers. The whole system is operated by either one of two 10” AMX touch panels with VOIP. An Annotation device allows users to draw and save information over any type of media.
The upgrade to the Boardroom (Becker Room) included HD Video Conferencing with 65” Plasma, Revolab Digital Wireless mic system with Nexia back bone and 5” AMX touch screen control.

The Australian Department of Defence

The Australian Department of Defence appointed Eo Design to design and install audiovisual systems for the Defence College Executive meeting rooms and training rooms. Eo Design specified zero halogen, non PVC flame retardant “green” cable along with eco friendly low energy, low heat amplifiers, display systems and energy efficient LED lighting. Pictured below is the Executive Conference Room with Eo Lighting’s MR16 halogen lamp replacements, model 506C.

When the boardroom was in use, the previous lamps were consuming over 600watts of power. Eo lamps have reduced this down to 66watts. Sean Thompson head of AV for the College is delighted with the end result.
